OA TECHNOLOGY

Option Audio's product development team is constantly on the move to develop the utmost cutting edge products for your in-car entertainment pleasure.  As sophisticated as a product may look, the technology used behind the products is fundamental. Here you can learn about what makes OA products unique and what we are working on for the future.

Amplifiers ‘New Generation’ – Touch Screen Amplifiers

NO MORE SCREW DRIVERS

A SIMPLE TOUCH AND ADJUST

Finding the new edge in amplifiers is not an easy task. Quality, Price, Power and Design are the key fundamentals of the success of an amplifier.

The Option Audio team has stepped up to the next level with a touch screen panel integrated into the tooling of the amplifier. A fully functional 3.5 inch touch panel. An in built menu allows all previous adjustments on the side of the amplifier to be controlled through the touch screen menu.  Take it in your stride this is where the future is going. No more screw driver adjustments a simple touch and adjust. Further features include an auxiliary AV input to bring some life to the amplifier. There is more to come so keep an eye out for a release date!

Amplifier Protection - New 'LIMIT' Protection Feature

So you are cranking the BASS and suddenly there is silence. You open your boot and find that your amplifier is smoking hot. "PROTECT, PROTECT". In frustration you turn your stereo off and of and still nothing. The truth is you need to let your amplifier COOL DOWN.

Now Option Audio has the answer to this problem with the new 'LIMIT' feature. The amplifier has a thermal sensor monitoring the operating temperature and gain level. When the amplifier reaches an operating temperature over 98.0C the amplifier goes into a limitation mode. This limitation mode reduces the gain output however does not stop the output of the amplifier. Once the thermal monitor drops below the limit, the amplifier automatically returns the gain to the original position. So you still go the tunes and a smart amplifier that will keep producing awesome sound with true reliability.

Did you know Option Audio amplifiers operate between -10 & 98.0 Degrees.

How does it work? Understanding Touch Screen

A basic touch screen has three main components: a touch sensor, a controller, and a software driver.

TOUCH SENSOR - The sensor has an electrical current or signal going through it and touching the screen causes a voltage or signal change. This voltage change is used to determine the location of the touch to the screen.

CONTROLLER - is a small IC controller that connects between the touch sensor and the unit. It takes information from the touch sensor and translates it into information that unit can understand. The controller is usually installed inside the monitor for integrated monitors or it is housed in a plastic case for external touch add-ons/overlays.

SOFTWARE - This makes touching the screen the same as clicking your mouse at the same location on the screen. This allows the  touch screen to work with existing software and allows new applications to be developed without the need for touch screen specific programming.
